about

Music I composed for a series of promotional videos for the St. Norbert Farmers' Market, which were produced by Folks Films, and with design by Ayla Manning.

The first and third tunes are based on an old English folk song, "Nonesuch", first published by John Playford in 1651. While the tune refers to a noble estate in the English countryside, a famous ship of the same name sailed into Hudson's Bay in the 1650's. A recreation of that ship currently resides in the Manitoba Museum, and is a well known attraction among us Winnipeggers. Not only is it a great tune, but I thought the incidental connection to Manitoba and Winnipeg was pretty cool, so I used it as the basis for these tracks.
